Itinerary

From the tourist office, walk along Rue du Sablais, Rue du Brandais, then Rue des Gabelous. Follow the circuit signs to the traditional village of La Gachère, where you will find a tourist information point. Next, walk towards La Chabossière, a place where oysters are collected. At this spot, you will have an interesting view of the Brem-sur-Mer marshes, Olonne Island and Olonne-sur-Mer Forest. A few kilometres later, you will reach La Corde, a picturesque little village (you can visit an art pottery studio there).

All of the next part of the tour takes place in the Brémoise countryside. You will pass through various localities: Le Grand Poiré, Les Abattis d'en bas and La Frémière, where you can enjoy a view of the neighbouring municipality of Landevieille. You then continue the walk to the locality of Mignotière, which has kept its viticultural character due to the presence of many vines there. You can stop at a Pays de Brem winery to enjoy the distinctive taste of the “Fiefs Vendéens” wines. You then walk along the country roads to reach the Saint Nicolas quarter, with its old 11th-century Romanesque church. This is one of the oldest churches in Vendée (see the tourist information point). The walk ends 2 kilometres later after a visit to the Church of St. Nicholas, returning to Brem-sur-Mer Tourist Office.
