The Golden Snake is a circuit for all. A concentrated blend of history, legends and domesticated and wild nature, everything is there for the pleasure of the senses... Springs, lake, river, ditches and an irrigation system succeed one another along this route. Information boards recount the legends of the site. You will find out what the "hand of Saint Robert" meant, what the function of the "square house" was, or who "Coco" was...
1 - Turn left after the village hall on to the dirt track which, slightly further on, continues into the forest.
2 - Turn right on to the road and follow it through Breuil Forest to the crossroads.
3 - Take the grassy path on the left towards Breuil Lake.
4 - Follow the right bank of this lake to the road, cross it and follow the Fossés des Moines along the path which heads into the forest.
5 - Cross the Senouire over a footbridge. The path then crosses a forest road and continues through the trees.
6 - After a steep climb, you will arrive at a path running at right angles, turn left to the clearing where you will find the hand of Saint Robert.
7 - Turn right at the edge of the forest and enter the wood again past the old granary: the square house.
