Depart from Mélagues Town Hall.
Follow the D52 north/west and turn right at the Virgin. Follow the GR71, red/white signposting. At the end of the village, turn left and continue along the GR71.
Continue along this path, called the 'la Caral', for about 2 km; halfway, stop and admire the iron cross on your left.
At the fork in the road, turn left and continue to Fanjaud Farm; leave the GR and turn left following the blue markers.
Enter the farm, climb up to the last house and leave it behind on your left; continue along the path and then take the path that veers off to the left and descend to the Fanjaud Ravine. After a half-hour walk down the steep slope, you will arrive at Nuéjouls River, often dry in the summer. Climb up the D52 and turn left back to Mélagues.
