• The dunes are not static, they constantly change their profile..., feeding on the sea, the beach and the wind. They have different shapes and faces:
• The embryonic dune consists of bare sand which gradually accumulates and reveals rare vegetal tufts.
• The white dune represents the second stage in the evolution of the dune, it is higher and has moved inland. It tends to stabilize thanks to the plants that develop there and in particular the oyat.
• The gray dune is still a little more stable, the sand is covered with a dark carpet, consisting of mosses and flowering plants. We find it more towards the back country. When the sand is sufficiently laden with decaying plant debris, it becomes gray and allows the formation of soil suitable for the development of other plant species. Sea buckthorn is the pioneer shrub of the dune with shrubs or shrubs.
• Shrubs ensure sustainable stabilization of the dune and are responsible for the gradual closure of the environment. The dune then knows its fourth and last stage of evolution: the wooded dune. Species at this stage are less characteristic of the dune environment and more of the forest ecosystem.

• In 1914, following the sale of the 350 ha estate to the "Société Civil Stella-Plage", a first subdivision plan for the resort was developed. In the absence of financial means and because of the outbreak of World War I, all projects were put on the back burner.
• In 1921, the "Free Trade Union Association of the owners of Stella-Plage" is created, and the first work of viability of the estate begins and will continue during the years 1922 to 1925 (Labrasse Boulevard was inaugurated on August 15, 1922).
• The financial shortage of the resort justified the creation, in 1925, of the "Société Anonyme Foncière et Immobilière de Stella-Plage". It was in the resale of land that SAFI had to find the necessary resources to carry out the viability work.
• July 8th, 1925, Stella-Plage is classified "climatic station" and this classification will result a whole series of works of hygiene and management...
