The Colorado of Provence is a site with radiant colours, which nature and human hands have created in the old ochre mines. With its bright orange fairy chimneys and its Sahara which changes from white to purple, it is a joy at all times of the year.

Departing from Apt, follow the D22 towards Rustrel for about 10 km. Park near the Colorado and several signposted paths.
Depart from the car park and start by making your way to the fairy chimneys, where you will enjoy a spectacular view. Descend along a tiny stream (often dry) and climb up the other side following the "Sahara" signposting. There, follow the various itineraries to reach the red, white and orange hills. Return via the old viaduct and the remains of the ochre factory to the car park.
