It is easy to reach by an undergrowth trail the panoramic ridge line that connects Gros Caïre to Mont Viroulet, separating the Valdeblore and the Tinée. This is an ideal hike from the village, the forest atmosphere guaranteeing a relative freshness and picking wild berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries).

From the square facing the church (b.76), follow the GR to leave shortly after (b.75) for the path that runs flank towards the Lavanchier valley. After a sparse larch we climb in the Black Wood until the bottom track (b.96) we cross to continue by a rather steep trail (b.124), then a path that leads to the pass of the Madeleine (1736 m - b.97); continue on the right (West) on the wide and wooded ridge until Mount Viroulet (1864 m).
Then go down to the Séréna pass (b.127), the path gradually giving way to a wood fire. Return to Saint-Dalmas by the asphalt road of Bois Noir (4 km flat). Note in passing the picnic area developed by the National Forestry Office at the collar of Puei (b.126).
