From the church, follow signs to Cayenne, and pass the small marina. The start of the trail can be found on the road which runs along the Cayenne Canal after the public garden and the harbour on the left.
The route runs through the salt pans and is signposted. At the end, there are five different-coloured oyster farmer cabins which have been turned into a museum (Cité de l'Huître). At the end of the visit, it is possible to print out some delicious hot oyster recipes. A play area for children is also available. Return via the same route.
