Castle Tour

Depart from the town of Valence, latitude 44.1056500 (N 44° 6’ 20”), longitude 0.8879900 (E 0° 53’ 17”)

• Starting point: Paking

• The departure is from Agen Valence where we can first observe the former public slaughterhouses refitted in "rest stop" (for hikers and cyclists, boaters and motorhomes with available water, toilets, picnic tables outside and inside, kitchen area, rest room with hammocks, parking, camper area). Along the banks of the canal side towards Pommevic, then turn left 500m after the lock Pommevic. Approximately 2.5 km along the inlet canal at Montech

• Pommevic

• In view of the village take the path that goes up to the village. Go to the traffic lights of the RD813. Cross to reach the village square. Arrived at the center of the village of Pommevic reach the parking of the village hall, back to the cemetery face (north), the street that joins the crossing, 300m away.

• Path on the left

• Cross the railway line and take the D96 on the right for 200m, before following a path on the left, which starts along a residential fence. At the end of the straight line turn right, always on the road towards a dovecote.

• The farm "Martis"

• Arrived on the road, to take on the left, on 1km. In the bend, after the farm "Martis" turn left the path, soon lined with trees, which climbs into the hillside.

• Point of view

• 700m further, we come to a fork, with a beautiful view, opposite, on the village of Saint-Vincent-Lespinasse.

• Path on the left

• We reach here a common portion of the "circuit of the pepper mill" of Saint Vincent. Continue the path from the left to the road.
• After fifty meters on the bitumen take on the left to the path.

• The farm "Magret"

• The path taken leads to the water tower and then to the farm "Magret"

• Pepper mill

• Take a right at the farm, then enter a hollow road on the left, in a small damp and cool wood.
• Then we go back to the ridge e, passing in front of an old "pepper mill" (it is said that the pepper transported by boat from Bordeaux on the side canal to the Garonne was ground in this mill)
• Continue straight until you cross roads. Get off the road on the right.

• Farm "Groulet"

• At the bottom of the coast, before the farm of "Groulet", take the left path that joins Castle Goudourville (built as early as the XIth on the site of a former priory).

• Castle Goudourville

• Go under the old drawbridge bypassing the castle

• Town Hall and Church

• On the road turn left, past the town hall and the church (which has splendid canvases historiated and may have visited by asking the key to the town hall).

• Behind the party hall

• Continue by road (direction Saint-Vincent) then on the path on the right behind the village hall.

• Road left

• After joining an asphalt road that we follow for 200m, take the road on the left for 600m

• To turn left

• Take a left again on a wide dirt road

• Pommevic, Port, arrival

• Then take the road on the right that leads back to Pommevic. It will be possible to take the path reverse to reach the port along the docks.
