• Civrac de Blaye, the first flower of the Towns and Villages in bloom, has over the centuries changed names many times. The origin of his name comes from Severinus or Severius Roman Emperor. In the 15th century the village was called Saint Vivien de Sivrac before becoming in 1956 Civrac-de-Blaye.
• A historical fact still marked the history of Civrac since Monday, July 26, 1784, Antoine Darbelet, Jean Chalifour and Alexandre Degranges leave Bordeaux in front of a crowd amazed balloon! Driven by the wind they cross the Garonne several times and after having traveled 31 km as the crow flies, they decide to go down to replenish the fuel. At that moment he flies over the municipality of Civrac. Unfortunately the landing is difficult and the balloon catches fire. Safe and sound they were welcomed by the Civracais and heroes on their return to Bordeaux.

• The Column to the Virgin

• Built on the occasion of the Jubilee of 1865, this column to the Virgin reminds, like the many mission crosses, the evangelical efforts of the Church in the nineteenth century. These memorials are located mainly at crossroads in order to be as visible as possible and to signal to the population the importance of religion.

• The vineyard of Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux

• It is under the name Blaye-Côtes de Bordeaux that the wine produced on this territory is marketed. At the scale of the canton, the vineyard is exploited mainly on small farms of about 15 hectares located in plain or hillside.

• The Guérin mill

• Ideally located on a high position, the mill Guérin dominates since the eighteenth century the surrounding countryside. From this promontory and on a clear day it is possible to see in the distance the Pont d'Aquitaine, gateway to the city of Bordeaux. The construction of these mills is the work of specialized builders because the tower had to be extremely stable and robust to withstand the wind. The interior had an upper part reserved for machinery and millstones, and a habitable ground floor, used in particular as a storage place for grain.

• The court and the church of Saint Savin

• Go on rue Célestin Joubert to discover the end of the court before continuing the route.
• With the new administrative organization resulting from the French Revolution, Saint-Savin was established at the end of the 18th century as the capital of Canton. With the construction of a courthouse, she then acquired the infrastructure necessary for her function. Built in 1857, the latter once sat on Monday, a market and fair day. Small offenses were tried until 1958. The Palace also had another function, where the "Review Board" medical examination of boys was organized to determine their ability to do their military service.
• The current church was built on the site of a chapel built in the 12th century and burned under the Terror. The church, built in 1843, is the work of architect Pierre Auguste Labbée. It houses a sculpture of Saint Savin, martyr of the fifth century. To discover, inside the murals, among the largest and best preserved of Gironde, and the fresco of the choir, restored in 1998.

• The Saint-Vivien church and the Musexpo

• Arriving in the village, do not hesitate to ask the town hall to visit the Musexpo and the key of the church to discover its interior that will surprise you. Enjoy the City Hall Park for a relaxing break.
• The Musexpo presents a large collection of old tools of the XIXth century related to the work of the vine and cooperage. You will discover about 600 pieces (apparatus to sulphate, grafting machine and a pack to sulfater on horseback).
• The first Saint-Vivien church built in the 13th century was destroyed during the Hundred Years War. Only part of the semi-circular apse remains, with five windows, four of which are original. The church has been rebuilt with a very beautiful wooden frame, in hull of returned boat. The principle of this frame: 7 triangular sets, the "farms", support the frame and the roof. Finely decorated and carved, the latter are rich in symbols. By observing with attention, we can see surprising decoration details (seal of Solomon, fleur de lys...).
