The Pommeau du Maine has an Appellation of Controlled Origin, and is made of apple must and cider brandy, aged for two to three years in oak casks. The Pommeau du Maine, with the subtle aromas of dried fruits, cooked fruit, cocoa and honey, can be drunk chilled as an aperitif and can also accompany foie gras, warm oysters, Roquefort cheese, melon or apple tart.
Many growers in the Mayenne area produce this local speciality with its incomparable taste.
