We had a fabulous 4 night stay with the most wonderfully welcoming hosts, Thierry et Sylvie Grumelart, who made all their guests feel like old friends gathered together for a holiday meal. We enjoyed Sylvie's superb cooking each evening, truly a must. Thierry, fluent in English, provides excellent advice on touring tailored to his guests' particular interests: outdoor sports, art and history, etc. Location is perfect for visiting Le Puy-en-Velay, Polignac, Arlempdes and many other sites along the Allier river. The setting as well as the beautifully renovated and decorated house makes every moment one of total relaxation. Very good value.

We had a fantastic stay @Le Clos des Pierres Rouges. Sylvie et Thierry were perfect hosts and the accommodation was simply superb. We also booked for evening meals which were terrific and well worth the extra cost. We could only highly recommend this location to anyone.

Room, cuisine, friendly atmosphere al excellent What about a swimming pool!!

After many stays in France the first one with no suggestions for improvements! From the very first moment we felt a very warm welcome. My girlfriend and I arrived late, they waited for us with dinner. Sylvie is a fantastic cook! The old house located on the verge of a quiet, small village has been renovated in a perfect balance. Modern, but respecting the old walls. Perfect bedroom with wonderful bed, big modern bathroom (a working shower for once...). Terrace only for this room with a couple of deck-chairs (that´s on the picture where the roof sticks out a bit in the middle). Needless to say everthing really clean. Breakfast plentyful and best quality with local and selfmade products. We travel a lot on our motorbikes and always try to find a chambre or something similar by chance, so we get to see many different places and also different categories. The day before we even stayed in a 'remise', an old stable, for free. But staying at Pierre Rouges, although more expensive (not surprisingly: -)), was definitely the best value for money! Next time we are anywhere near, Sylvie and Thierry will surely be first call, and also (although we otherwise never do) we will book early to make sure we can stay with them. A very strong recommendation!

Thank you, Sylvie and Thierry for a wonderful stay. We cannot think of anything that could be improved. The house was beautiful and spotlessly clean. We were given a very warm welcome and the food was delicious. It was also good value for money. It is the first time that we have stayed somewhere and the family have joined us for dinner - we felt like very special family guests!

Everything about this visit surpassed our expectations. The quality of the accommodations and the wonderful hospitality of our hosts Sylvie and Thiery was simply perfect. The evening meal was absolutely super - a perfect example of the fine art of French cuisine accompanied with aperos, wine, digestifs and coffee or Tisane tea. The following morning our host Thiery even drove us to the start of the Compostelle GR65 in St Privat. Overall, our stay was wonderful.

Our room was so... Beautiful. Dinner cooked by Sylvie... Amazing. All local produce. Such a great experience as Thierry made you feel at home. Thank you so much. We would love to return. Kerrie Kinnane.

Nous étions le seul couple ce soir là et nous avons apprécié le repas délicieux malgré tous les impératifs dûs à des allergies... Et la discussion à bâtons rompus sur les maisons de retraite et le choix de créer des maisons d'hôtes pour personnes âgées avec un nombre limité de personnes accueillis pour mieux les choyer... Théâtrement vôtre... Gisèle et Bertrand.

Un trés bon séjour, dans une maison pleine de charme et d'autenticité, un trés bon accueil, une très bonne table a découvrir et a faire découvrir...

Le bonheur, tout simplement ...

Ancienne ferme restaurée avec beaucoup de goût par les propriétaires. Accueil chaleureux - chambres confortables - décoration harmonieuse. Cheminée impressionnante. Repas succulents avec produits régionaux.

Un accueil très chaleureux, une table digne d un super restaurant, une chambre d un très grand confort et des conseils pour la découverte du terroir très pertinents que demander de plus. Nous reviendrons.

Huit mois se sont écoulés depuis notre passage au Clos des Pierres Rouges et nos souvenirs sont intacts. Car dans ce havre d'harmonie, tous les sens sont en éveil ! Les sourires de Sylvie, Manon et Thierry, le cadre naturel propice au repos et à la découverte (photos d'art splendides, meubles anciens...), la chaleur d'un bon feu et le confort des chambres, les odeurs et saveurs de repas inoubliables (c'est beau, inventif, mieux que bon, local et bienfaisant !) ; puis l'écoute des conseils essentiels de Thierry et même les aboiements enjoués de Dyson. Tout s'est inscrit dans nos mémoires en moments intenses. Voilà comment se ressourcer au mieux avant de poursuivre notre fameux périple du Chemin de St Jacques. Bravo et encore merci. Nous espérons bien renouveler cette expérience lors de prochaines aventures...

Franchement très agréable, tant pour l'accueil que pour les commodités de logement. Le mieux : souci du détail, de la perfection, du respect du voyageur, des conseils de visite... Le très bien : repas (même si peut-être un peu 'copieux'), approche écologique. Seule suggestion : insonorisation de la première chambre à droite (pas gênant en soi car j'étais fatigué et j'ai bien dormi, mais entendre les bruits de rangement le soir ou de préparation du petit déjeuner pourrait peut-être gêner certains voyageurs). Félicitations !

Excellent séjour votre accueil chaleureux nous a mis tout de suite à l'aise, l'assiette gouteuse nécessitait après une bonne dépense d'énergie.

C'etait une premiere pour nous de séjourner dans une chambres d'hotes et nous avons ete ravis d'avoir fais ce choix cette auberge est magnifique nous avons été très bien accueilli et mis à l'aise tout de suite. Nous ne regrettons pas ce choix et nous conseillerons cette auberge.

Nous tenons particulièrement à vous remercier pour ce réveillon de La Saint sylvestre passé en votre Compagnie dans votre charmante. Maison raffinée et avons beaucoup apprécié les mets succulents et originaux de Sylvie et le bon pain de Thierry. Votre disponibilité, votre gentillesse nous ont charmées et c'est avec un grand plaisir que nous aurons l'occasion de revenir parmi vous. Il y a dans la vie des instants de bonheur qu'aucun poème ne peut résumer et c'est cela que nous avons éprouvé chez vous. Encor un grand merci.

Nous gardons un excellent souvenir de nôtre passage à rougeac. A une prochaine fois.
