First class accommodation and service
My wife and I stayed with Henri and Josiane Fresne for six nights in June 2012, having chosen their accommodation virtually at random based on geographical location and price. We were offered a ground floor double bedroom, shower/bathroom, toilet, kitchen and a lounge with TV and a spare single bed - self-catering accommodation in effect at a B&B establishment. The breakfast was continental but varied, well presented and plentiful! Henri and Josiane were the perfect hosts. Henri spoke a fair bit of English - much more than we could French! The only adverse comment we would make (and one that is directed more at the tourism/highway authorities) is that the hamlet of Marlais, in which La Noe de Marlais is situated, is very poorly signposted. In fact, it is not signposted at all in nearby Herbignac, which is only a few minutes' drive.
