Launched by Alain Ducasse, the "Tous au Restaurant" event (whose name means "Everyone to the Restaurant") takes place every year for a fortnight in September and October. Michelin-starred restaurants, contemporary bistros run by young chefs and regional cuisines: a total of over 1,000 restaurants are involved all over France and Belgium to introduce the public to their cuisine and skills.
A wide range of entertainment is provided, like exceptional dinners, culinary demonstrations and special meals. The aim of the event is to introduce people to the diversity of today's gourmet cuisine and promote the best restaurants in France and Belgium. In order to make the most highly prized restaurants accessible to all, tables at over twenty exceptional restaurants are available for bookings alongside the other establishments. Over 600,000 people take part in the event.
