Events around Thouars

The market is held every Tuesday and Friday morning under the halls. A Christmas market is also organized.

Terri'thouars Blues is a music festival organized between March and April.

At the beginning of June, the city celebrates Saint Médard with various animations.

Les Arts'Osés, in June, offers several concerts.

In July, we can attend the festival Atouts Arts dedicated to all the arts.

An expo fair takes place in September.

• The Centre d'art contemporain La Chapelle Jeanne d'Arc and the École Municipale d'Arts Plastiques invite you to immerse yourself in plastic art, through a 3-day workshop. You'll approach Anthony Plasse's "Le Pli" exhibition from every angle. You'll explore photosensitive processes through cyanotype, graphic games with light and projected images, and paper folding to create drawings, paintings, sculptures and photographs. Three afternoons of experimentation, technical discovery and collective creation ! - Reservations essential.

• Storyteller Nadine DECORCE and musician Claire ASTIÉ bring you a musical version of this traditional tale from Burkina Faso. This is the story of Saïdou, whose mother gives him a precious gift on the way back from the river : a wonderful ladybug ! But the hen swallows the insect, and the little boy bursts into tears. And so begins Saïdou's food-chain trek to find a ladybug… because nothing is lost in nature ! - 2 screenings : one at 10:30 a.m. and a second at 3:30 p.m

• Visit the exhibition "Maréchal, ôte toi de là !" presented by the Centre Régional Résistance & Liberté, then set off to discover Tourtenay, a troglodytic village with an exceptional past ! - This isolated village, shaped by the exploitation of its natural underground resources, boasts a unique landscape : vineyards, underground quarries and a remarkable built heritage. The Resistance seized on these assets. On two rare occasions, Tourtenay was chosen to organize clandestine parachute drops. - Follow the guide in the footsteps of the "army of shadows" and discover the mysteries of these secret missions on a 1 km walk.

• The Conservatoire Tyndo and the association Trad'y Danse invite you to an evening of exchanges around traditional dance ! In a musical and festive atmosphere, you will practice couple dances (scottish, mazurkas, waltz) but also round dances (maraîchines…), avant-deux, marchoises… - It is an appointment for the lovers of the dance and also for the neophytes who wish to benefit from this moment of meetings and exchanges with the other. - In order to make you discover their bi-monthly workshop this workshop is open to all. • The practice of yoga will take you to a state of availability and receptivity and allow us to "enter" the Henri Barré Museum and its garden in a different way. The latter are places conducive to contemplation and meditation where everyone can let their sensibility and emotions express themselves - Participants can bring a blanket. The workshop starts in the museum garden but can start indoors in case of bad weather. The workshop then takes place inside the museum, with each participant choosing whether to sit in the living room or the dining room, facing a work or not - Workshop from 16 years old
