The Raid des Alizés trek is a women's sports competition organised by TV Sport Events that takes place every year in mid-November on the island of Martinique. Open to all women, the challenge lasts for three days and alternates between multisport trekking (mountain biking through the banana plantations, canoe-kayak, running along the streams or the black sand beaches) and nights spent in a bivouac deep in the countryside.
Each team consists of three people and supports a charity or social cause. In a protected natural environment, the participants have the opportunity to travel through the most beautiful natural sites in Martinique, like Anse Michel cove or the Pelée Mountain. There are also many surprise challenges in store.
The route is kept secret until the last minute and the general ranking determines the donations paid directly to the charities. The trek is a great success and over 50 sports teams are involved.
