Paris Photo is an annual fair designed to promote artistic photography and celebrate contemporary creativity. It takes place every year for three days in mid-November. For the occasion, over 140 galleries from 33 different countries exhibit exceptional works to the public in the nave of the Grand Palais. 27 international publishers will also be there, offering a complete overview of photography today.
Each year, the spotlight falls on a private collection, with major works by renowned artists such as Cy Twombly, Hans-Peter Feldmann or Nan Goldin, as well as works by less well-known artists. An experimental forum with interviews, round tables and testimonials provides a place for artists, gallery owners, collectors, professionals, enquiring minds and enthusiasts to meet and get together. Many authors come to the fair to meet their audience for signing sessions. Around 1,300 artists have their work exhibited and over 170 exhibitors take part in the event, including publishing companies and many international art galleries.
