The Paris Horse Show (Salon du Cheval de Paris) is an annual event dedicated to the world of horses and riding. Each year, around 450 exhibitors and 2,000 horses gather for ten days or so at Paris Nord Villepinte. It takes place near the end of November and welcomes 150,000 visitors each year.
Several areas are represented: sports and competition, equine ethology and health, the performing arts, sales and breeders. The show also hosts three unmissable events, the Paris Longines Masters, the European leg of the Masters Grand Slam Indoor, the Night of the Horse (Nuit du Cheval), a thrilling equestrian show, and the Arabian Horse World Championship, an international competition featuring over 140 Arabian horses where prizes are given for the world's finest specimens.
Many activities are planned such as conferences, stands offering an introduction to western riding and sports events like the Paris'Cup d'attelage, a spectacular chariot-racing competition involving handling, speed and endurance, or the Crazy Run, a relay race where the aim is not to achieve the best score but to create the best costume! A children's village also welcomes budding riders for pony workshops and introductions to vaulting.
