- Patron Saint's Day: May 16th or the weekend after May 16th.
- People Bournareau or Saint Gens, patron of the city, was born in 1104 to Monteux. He led the few cows of his father to graze in the scrubland. One day he rose against the superstitious practices and pagan customs of his fellow citizens and was driven out of the village. He retired to the hills of Beaucet, near Saint-Didier. One day, her mother visited her, she was exhausted and thirsty by the heat, People pierced the rock with her finger and immediately springs a source that will never dry up. He died at 23 years old. His tomb is still in the old chapel of the hermitage.
- Every year, the Brotherhood of Saint Gens organizes a pilgrimage to Beaucet. This event has kept its traditional and folkloric character. On Saturday, eight young Montilians in period costumes, the "Santgenaïres", carry the statue of Saint Gens and the banner ("bandiero"), running to the hermitage. On Sundays, around 6am, Christ is carried by the costumed young men to the hermitage. In the afternoon, the procession of pilgrims, consisting of people on foot and carts, returns to Monteux. When the Saint arrives, bombs burst and the bells ring. In the evening at 10 pm, the statue of Saint Gens is set on fire by a magnificent firework under the clamours of the crowd and the singing of the traditional song.
