Every summer in early August, the Provençal village of Pernes-les-Fontaines lends its shaded setting and the coolness of its old stone buildings to the Font'Arts Street Theatre and Music Festival. For a weekend, forty or so companies perform free of charge on the side streets and squares of the little town.
Various dance, theatre, circus and storytelling shows are on offer, catering to a wide audience. A large proportion of the festival is aimed at children and young people, with artistic expression workshops as well as mime, street theatre, juggling and slapstick circus shows.
Font'Arts is also a gathering that is open to all, where artists and their audience can meet. Over the years, the festival has built up quite a reputation and has managed to impose itself as a big summer event thanks to its lavish, high-quality performances. A time of celebration for everyone!
