Every year in the month of June, the village of Mougins in Alpes-Maritimes organises an international festival entirely dedicated to gastronomy. For three days, the streets and squares of the old village welcome a hundred or so French and foreign chefs who come to share their skills and passion with the public.
There are many activities to enjoy including cookery demonstrations, oenology and cookery lessons, competitions, culinary workshops, concerts, signings and meet-and-greet sessions. Refreshment stands and food trucks await the visitors every day from 10 am to midnight. There is an entire day dedicated to children with food-themed activities and workshops during which knowledge-sharing plays a very important role.
A total of over 1,000 cookery lessons are given during the festival. Launched in 2006 as a tribute to Roger Vergé, chef at the Moulin de Mougins, the event draws over 15,000 people each year.
