The Electrobeach festival of electronic music runs for three days in July at Port-Barcarès, a former fishing village in Pyrénées-Orientales that has become a renowned seaside resort. The concerts take place outdoors on the beach and in the gardens of the Lydia, an ocean liner built in 1931 that has stood on the sand since 1967 and has now been converted into a museum.
Since it was founded in 2009, the festival has championed electronic music and DJs from all over the world. Electrobeach has developed greatly in recent years thanks to an excellent line-up with artists such as Duke Dumont, Steve Aoki, Fatboy Slim, Example and the British singer Tara McDonald, as well as its exceptional setting and vibrant party atmosphere.
The festival welcomes around 150,000 spectators each year and is one of Europe's biggest electronic music festivals.
