The Spirit of the Place – Cérès Franco on All Floors

- VERNISSAGE : Friday, March 14,6:30 pm - "L'esprit des lieux - Cérès Franco à tous les étages" (The spirit of the place - Cérès Franco on every floor) - For almost seventy years, gallerist and curator Cérès Franco has championed art that goes beyond the norm, encouraging surprise and emotion. Today, her collection represents a singular page in the history of art, whose works have been housed since 2015 at the Coopérative ? Musée Cérès Franco in Montolieu. - The latter closed its doors in 2022 for four years of renovation work, in order to offer both the works and future visitors a more beautiful setting. In the meantime, the Coopérative ? Musée Cérès Franco is launching a program of off-site exhibitions across Occitanie, starting in 2025. The first episode will take place at the Maison des Mémoires, owned by the Département de l ? Aude, in the heart of the Bastide of Carcassonne. - By giving a voice to the associations housed on the four floors of this 17th-century building, the exhibition L ? esprit des lieux - Cérès Franco à tous les étages offers a reinterpretation of the Cérès Franco collection through four words, chosen by the inhabitants of the Maison des Mémoires. - These words - "place", "emulation", "revelation" and "dissidence" - will be illustrated by works chosen collectively by the associations and evoking subjects close to their hearts. In this way, they offer a new perspective on the work of a lifetime. - A guided tour of the "l'esprit des lieux" exhibition will take place on Saturday March 15 at 3pm, led by Maximilien Fortier, curator and Director of GIP Cérès Franco.

- On May 1,2025, lovers of running and endurance challenges are invited to the first edition of the Trail des Remparts de Carcassonne. This unique event combining sporting performance and cultural discovery will be held in the heart of one of France ? S most visited sites : the ramparts of the Cité de Carcassonne. - On the program : 2 challenges, 4 starts, individually or in 2 or 4-person relays : - The Remparts Challenge : 4 hours of intense endurance - For the most hardened runners, the Défi des Remparts is a true test of endurance. On a demanding route winding along the ramparts, participants will have to push their limits and complete a maximum of 1.3 km loops in 4 hours. - First start : 4pm - Second start : 9pm
