Moselle town, Woippy takes place at the limit of Metz, in the Grand Region. Located on the left bank of the river that gave its name to the department, it extends the agglomeration Messina towards the northwest.
The site, inhabited since the time of the Neolithic, has had a turbulent history over the centuries. Woippy has indeed been looted and burned many times between the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Annexed to the German Empire in the late nineteenth century, this town has now regained Moselle France, remaining a military town.
An interesting architectural heritage occupies part of the municipality of Woippy, allowing to learn some elements of the story of a city that has experienced real adventures.
Woippy, despite its much destruction over the centuries, has preserved and highlight a number of important monuments and other attractions.
Now private property, Woippy Castle was built between the thirteenth and fourteenth century, before being significantly modified during the sixteenth century. It was listed as an historic monument for several of its elements, like the wall, the square tower, or the four corner towers.
stately home, the apiary was once considered one of the most beautiful villas of the surroundings. The building was replaced by a residential house in the mid nineteenth century. Today neglected it hosted in 1870 the headquarters of General Gibon.
Walking through Woippy and its surroundings, it is possible to admire the Upper House Clery, a tower of the fifteenth century or the fortified farm Grandes Tappes with Gothic windows and a large entrance gate.
Several mansions are still in the territory of Woippy, like the house of Saint-Eloy eighteenth century, the house of Biche who now serves as the rectory, or farm Small Tappes.
Some interesting religious buildings can be discovered. Built in the nineteenth century, the Saint-Etienne church reveals a beautiful neo-Gothic style, while the Chapel of the Nativity of the Most-Holy Virgin Mary is rather Renaissance. This is the last vestige of the castle Ladonchamps, a former fourteenth century castle now destroyed.
During World War II, the city of Woippy became infamous for hosting a Nazi repression camp. He served include place of internment for Russian prisoners, resistant or refractory to the STO.
Recently installed, the beach Woippy site offers six hectares of water, a sandy beach, a beach volleyball court or a water sports for entertainment.

From May to June, the city puts strawberry honored with various events such as a carnival, the election of the queen of strawberries, Taggada'Song festival and concerts, fireworks or a beautiful parade of the cutter.
Place the wash house party in August. For the occasion, dances, performances, artist demonstrations or raffles and carriage rides are offered.
The ecology of festival and nature is organized every year in October. The city offers exhibitors on the theme of the environment, activities for all ages, concerts or conferences.
