Windstein

Windstein offers visitors some interesting sights that show the importance of the city once.

The main attractions are the castles Windstein Old and New Windstein Windstein. The first is a ruin installed at a height of 340 meters in the northern Vosges and listed historical monument. Built in the thirteenth century, it was finally destroyed in the late seventeenth century. It is now a site referenced by the French Federation of mountain climbing. Classified historical monument, the castle of New Windstein is a rock castle that was built in the early thirteenth century. Like the Old Windstein, it is now in ruins.

The town of Windstein also a beautiful Lutheran Church of the nineteenth century, and old mine shafts dating from the same era.
