Located in the department of Vienne, the town of Vouillé takes place about twenty kilometers from Poitiers, on the road to Parthenay. Compounds groves, fields and valleys around the town offer a unique environment for visitors.
Inhabited since the fifth century, the city of Vouillé was the site of a decisive battle between Clovis and the Visigoths in the early sixth century, the French King emerged victorious. Today, the city of Vienna is known for its tourism and its various recreation.
But it is the natural heritage of Vouillé attracts mainly tourists in this part of France, including its forest fauna and flora of the most interesting.
Alive, the small town of Vouillé also presents an architectural and natural heritage which is not without interest for visitors.
Walking through Vouillé, it is possible to admire a vestige of the ramparts of the fifteenth century, built to protect the town from the English. This is a door that now houses City Hall.
Dating from 1650, the beautiful dovecote situated in the streets Bass was once part of a fortified farm. It was restored in the 1990s.
The Massigny Stone, a limestone dolmen and menhir Cillais, 1.60 meters high, are the Neolithic remains to Vouillé.
One can also admire a memorial dedicated to the war of 1870, the castle of Grandmaison listed historic monument, or the washing of the Pisseloup recently restored.
Intended for baking ceramics, Ribiere lime kiln was discovered through a walk in the nature that surrounds Vouillé.
But it is the Vouillé forest that attracted the most visitors to the city. Mainly composed of oak and beech, it hosts a large number of rare or endangered plants. Two remarkable trees can also be seen as a beautiful oak tree. The site allows beautiful walks or bike, and is ideal for picnics or for leisure activities.

A Christmas market is offered each year in the municipal gymnasium.
In summer, the town organizes Country Producers markets. Garage sales are plentiful in the city in early June, early August and mid-September.
In April, a country dance is an opportunity to learn about American dance.
