Located in Seine-et-Marne, in Ile-de-France, the commune of Villeparisis is located on the edge of the department of Seine-Saint-Denis, near the Canal de l'Ourcq. It is not far from the cities of Tremblay-en-France, Claye-Souilly or Mitry-Mory, ten kilometers from Sevran.
Villeparisis takes its name from a Gallic tribe, the Parisii, settled in the region. At the junction with the Meldes tribe, the commune has always found itself on an important axis of communication. Populated since the Gallo-Roman period, as evidenced by sarcophagi found on the spot, it is today an important city of the Paris region.
Very active in the field of culture, the commune of Villeparisis also has a charming architectural heritage testifying to the antiquity of the city in Ile-de-France.
