The municipality covers 12.6 km² and has 1,044 inhabitants in 2016. With a density of 81 inhabitants per km², Villandraut has seen a sharp increase of 24.9% of its population compared to 1999.
Surrounded by the communes of Uzeste, Balizac Bourideys, Préchac and Saint-Léger-de-Balson, Villandraut is located 2 km south-west of Noaillan, the largest village in the area.
Located at about thirty meters, Villandraut is crossed by the Ciron, the main river of the village and is close to the Regional Natural Park of Landes de Gascogne.
