Commune of Guadeloupe, Vieux-Habitants takes place in the west of the island of Basse-Terre on the coast-under-the-wind. It is located about ten kilometers from the town of Basse-Terre, near Baillif Bouillante or St. Claude.
Oldest village of Guadeloupe, Vieux-Habitants was founded in the first half of the seventeenth century, in 1636. Originally facing growing coffee and vanilla, it kept his past a unique authenticity and heritage that attracts visitors from around the world. The town also attracted by its proximity to some of the most beautiful sights of the island, like the Soufriere volcano and its many walks accessible to all, and its dream beaches.
