Vers-en-Montagne is a village pleasantly situated, surrounded by forests, which dominates the valley of the Angillon.
Vers-en-Montagne has a rich historical past, on the one hand by its castle and lords who occupied it, and secondly by famous people or not, who resided in the village.
Its origin seems very old. Remnants with a diameter of 50 meters ( Motte Malpas ) are visible on the common and similar to those called " camps Caesar " in Béarn. This suggests that this building dates back to a period more remote history.

Vers-en-Montagne after being part of the manor of Montrivel was erected in the chief town of a beautiful manor which included the nearest villages.
