At the foot of the first foothills of the Jura, in the heart of the village of Cuisiat, the Revermont museum is housed in the former school town hall. It strives to preserve and enhance the objects and plants that bear witness to the heritage of Ain. The boys' classroom has been reconstructed in situ and identically, while upstairs, the earthenware from Meillonnas displays its characteristic colors and patterns.
The museum is first of all a conservatory vegetable garden-orchard where more than 650 local, curious or forgotten varieties are cultivated: ancient or unusual vegetables with evocative names, aromatic and medicinal plants, cereals and herbs. technical uses, apple and pear trees… all testify to the richness of biodiversity along the paths. Its workshops and events reflect its desire to preserve and transmit threatened plant heritage as well as the knowledge attached to it: uses, cultures, traditions...
Museum open from April 1 to November 6, from Thursday to Monday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., public holidays included.
