Common Hautes-Alpes, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region, Val-des-Prés takes place south of the Clarée Valley, just a few kilometers from Briançon or Cervières.
Relatively recent, the village was created following the French Revolution, in 1791, by the dismemberment of the commune of Montgenèvre. Close to the Franco-Italian border, he was strongly influenced by both cultures. Occupied by the Germans during the Second World War, the village of Val-des-Prés then turned to skiing and winter sports activities in the second half of the twentieth century.
Today, Val-des-Prés is as much appreciated for its architectural heritage and its natural landscapes, as for its ski resort which attracts many visitors every year.
