The church was built in the late 13th century, judging by the large gear of the apse that offers a monumental aspect. We remark on the foothills a character standing on his head with his hands a sundial. The subjects, arranged in several round medallions are all related to the creation of the world and history of Jesus Christ. The chorus deserves attention. It sees the key to a medallion showing God holding his right hand and a sword on his lap a lamb (fourteenth century). Above the altar, we notice, enclosed in the narrow central window of the apse, a very curious window of early 18th century. Topics arranged in several round medallions are all related to the creation of the world and history of Christ.
Beside the church can be seen behind large gates, the castle. In this castle, now private, that bard of Hochberg, second wife of Philip of Chastellux, retired and died February 6, 1565. The castle was restored 2 centuries later by the Baron de Coulanges.
The village also has two laundries remarkable on the road to Fontenay.
Val-de-Mercy finally stands out by its old buildings, architecture typical local wine grower, where houses are under the vaulted cellars of the old features.
