Church Saint-Étienne

Monument in Uzès

Located in the town of Uzès, in the Gard, the Saint Stephen's was built in the second half of the eighteenth century, between 1764 and 1774 on the plans of an architect from Avignon, Peter Bung. A fine example of Gothic architecture, this building classified historic monument sits on the remains of an earlier building destroyed during the religious wars.

Visitors however can still admire some original features such as the bell tower of the thirteenth century which was originally used as a watchtower.
