In Ungersheim, in a 25-hectare park, it is possible to discover 70 traditional and typical Alsatian buildings. What's unusual about it is that these houses have been removed from their villages of origin to be completely rebuilt here, in the Alsace heritage museum. What an impressive achievement! This outdoor museum really looks like an old village. This unique place also revives Alsatian know-how by presenting traditional trades like clog maker, blacksmith and carpenter. Craft objects are also on sale there.

Share the life of the inhabitants of the countryside at the beginning of the 20th century and discover the exceptional heritage of the Ecomuseum of Alsace, which is revealed in many forms: housing, crafts, cooking, agriculture but also nature and landscape with its gardens, its river, its fields...

Traditional festivals, daily activities for young and old, amazing exhibitions, boat trips or cart drawn by a tractor or horses, participatory sites... at the ecomuseum, all the activities and discoveries are adventures to live and stories to share, with friends or family.

Since 2014, the museum has participated in reflections on the challenges of tomorrow for housing, agriculture, biodiversity and "living together". A new space devoted to housing in the 21st century in Alsace, in particular at an architecture festival, materializes the beginning of this beautiful project: the ecomuseum of Alsace is also a museum of society today, with a heritage and tourist facilities proud of its roots and well anchored in its time.
