The Museum of Transport and Communications of Toulouse is heir to the "Museum of Transport Languedoc" created in 1960 by passionate enthusiasts who pooled their collections.
It features model trains and other vehicles and objects and documents related to the history of the means of transport used or produced in the South.
On the ground floor of the building, the permanent collection presents the railway, the history of the Railway Station and the evolution of road vehicles.
The first floor is dedicated to aviation and presentation of temporary exhibitions. These are regularly renewed because of the richness of the land owned museum (15 000 pieces).
Note however that thematic exhibitions are occasionally hosted in the public rooms of the region.
The Museum of Transport and Communications is not open to the public on Thursday for free tours but are welcomed as groups of 3 to 20 people who have previously booked. Contact the +33 5 61 55 02 10.
