Thoiry is a town of Île-de-France located in the department of Yvelines. Populated by nearly 1200 inhabitants, rural village is located about thirty kilometers from Versailles and its castle, and about fifty kilometers from Paris, the capital. Built on a hill, the village and its castle, agricultural plateau and overlooks a wooded park.

Located on a hillside on the edge of the woods, Thoiry has a certain charm that seduces all visitors. Its architectural and historical heritage is particularly rich even if Thoiry fame is mainly due to its famous globally known African reserve.

Between architectural heritage and African reserve, the village of Thoiry no shortage of attractions to attract tourists and casual visitors.

Thoiry The wildlife park is the main tourist attraction of this town Yvelines. Opened in 1968 on Castle Thoiry, this zoo is the creation of the Count Antoine Panouse. Unlike many zoos, this park can drive around among different herbivores species from all African law. First safari park opened in France, the Thoiry park also offers other attractions such as zoos to admire through glass tunnels dragons Komodo, tigers, or snow leopards. English-style gardens, a rose garden, a maze or even exquisite French theater are beautiful walks. Unique in the country, the ark of small animals has the potential to appreciate in a huge wooden vessel amphibians and invertebrates.

built in the sixteenth century, the castle of Thoiry a renaissance style. Built by the architect Philibert Delorme, it has beautiful pieces, some of which are not publicly available. However, one can admire a beautiful staircase with Gobelins tapestries, Morning of a living room all in red, a chapel dedicated to the Sacred Heart, or an interesting museum archives. This allows to discover some documents like family trees, photographs or letters signed Jean-Jacques Rousseau, or Chateaubriand Rodin. The castle garden, large 450 hectares, has been labeled Remarkable Garden.

In the village, St. Martin's Church has a nave and a choir dating from the fourteenth century. The latter was restored in the 1980s

Thoiry, especially his castle hosts the annual exceptional events mainly turned to classical and baroque music.

Each November, Thoiry offers its famous celebration of the game. On this occasion, demonstrations and workshops are offered for two days.

regularly in the year, the castle of Thoiry hosts shows and concerts of baroque music concerts throughout including Brilliantly Baroque festival held each year during the spring school holidays.
