Thiéfosse is a commune in the Vosges region in the Greater East region, 40 km south-east of Epinal, by road.
Belonging to the Regional Natural Park of the Ballons des Vosges, the village takes its name from the enclosed aspect of the Moselotte valley, a river descending from the peaks that crosses its territory. If the heart of the locality is 430 m above sea level, its highest point is 890 m.
Particularly verdant (the forest covers almost half of the locality), the village was officially erected in the commune only in 1835. Until then it was only a parish.
Agricultural activity and especially timber exploitation and work have long been the main economic drivers of Thiéfosse, before a textile factory was established in the first half of the 19th century, which ceased its activity in 2005. However, there are still SMEs specialized in woodworking and trading.
Nearby, other places of tourism (Rupt-sur-Moselle, Gérardmer, La Bresse), Thiéfosse (approximately 600 inhabitants) is the image of the Vosges massif and presents a set of natural environments of great interest in term Biodiversity, against a backdrop of preserved landscapes.
