Crossed by the expressway, the city of Theix is 5 kilometers from Vannes, 50 kilometers from Lorient and 100 kilometers from Nantes. Its easy access, in line with commercial space east of Vannes, is attractive to businesses. Nearly 300 traders, artisans and businesses are divided between the town center and areas of Atlantheix activities of Saint-Léonard and Landy. Agriculture is still a very important sector of activity; 36 farms share about 2 300 hectares of farmland. Near the Gulf of Morbihan and the Peninsula Rhuys, Theix is as a town "at a crossroads".
A little history... It was not until the twelfth century that began to appear in official documents the name of Theix. This, moreover with different spellings: Theys, Teis and Theix. It is generally agreed to give as the original Celtic word "tesser" meaning weaver. This is probably explained by the reputation acquired early on by the weavers theixois for the quality of their product, this probably because of the opportunities offered by retting streams sinuant on the territory of the former municipality.

Since the tiny peninsula of the Isle, you can discover and view extend to St. Leonard in Theix. Take time to discover Noyalo: fishing on foot for amateurs, exhibitions at Bridge Mill (near the pond that serves as a source of drinking water to the city of Vannes), bird watching, walking along the coast...
