Close to the Swiss and German borders, Héricourt takes place in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, in the heart of Haute-Saône. Second city of the department, it is located not far from Montbéliard, in the Doubs, and Belfort.
Inhabited since the Neolithic, the town of Héricourt joined the Germanic territory in the ninth century and the Treaty of Verdun. It has a golden age from the fourteenth century and for many centuries, and suffers several times the side effects of religious wars. The city industrialized in the nineteenth century with the development of textile factories, before slowly turning to tourism.
Its proximity to its European neighbors and some of the most beautiful sites in eastern France make it a perfect place to spend a few days of holidays in the region.
