The racecourse is located on the Malbrande locality Talmont-Saint-Hilaire in the Vendée, a few kilometers southeast of the resort of Les Sables d'Olonne.
It was inaugurated in 1970 but the horse races were organized from the mid-nineteenth century on the main beach of Sable d'Olonne. A company created in 1913 race, the tracks were then developed and utilized in the municipality of Château d'Olonne, in the field of Heath first, then the locality Orbestier.
The racecourse project Malbrande materialized after the purchase of 35 hectares on the site of the Malbrande.
Renovated in 1996 and in 2005, the racetrack has approved a sand track in first category for trotting, long 1243 m with a straight line of 350 m, track 1512 m aspiring first class to gallop and a grass runway tier for hurdles.
Each year, the racecourse hosts 17 Malbrande night race meetings reserved trotting in July and August and 4 meetings dedicated to gallop races and obstacles.
A grandstand and restaurant are accessible to spectators, and of course the reception points for bettors.
