The municipality of Taglio-Isolaccio is in the Pieve de Tavagna, in the canton of Fiumalto-d'Ampugnani, in Castagniccia (the Chestnut Grove).
It consists of two villages, Taglio and Isolaccio, which face each other on the highest part, and extends from the mountain to the sea. In the plain, a subdivision has developed since the end of the 1960s, including a renowned cheese factory and a large holiday center.

The San Mamiliano de Taglio Church, dating from the 18th century, was built on the site of an old Romanesque chapel dedicated to San Mamiliano, bishop of Monte-Christo. Inside, a rare painting of 1682 representing the nursing Virgin, statue of the Virgin in polychrome wood, painting of the Virgin of the Rosary of 1760. The bell tower, which measures more than 38 meters, is one of the highest of Corsica.
