The municipality of Taglio-Isolaccio is in the Pieve de Tavagna, in the canton of Fiumalto-d'Ampugnani, in Castagniccia (the Chestnut Grove).
It consists of two villages, Taglio and Isolaccio, which face each other on the highest part, and extends from the mountain to the sea. In the plain, a subdivision has developed since the end of the 1960s, including a renowned cheese factory and a large holiday center.
