A building classified as a Historic Monument, the Maison Kammerzell takes place on the Place de la Cathédrale, at Strasbourg. Built in the 16th century, it presents an architecture typical of the Alsatian half-timbered house.
The one that takes its name from one of its former owners was bought at the end of the 19th century by the municipality, via the Fondation de l'oeuvre Notre-Dame. Since the end of the 1930s, Maison Kammerzell has housed a hotel-restaurant considered to be one of the most beautiful brasseries in the world.
Visitors can admire, in particular on the facade, wooden sculptures, spiral staircases, murals or seventy-five windows with stained glass in the bottom of the bottle.
