Things to see and do

The heritage is rich country Souvigny of 200 castles and has more of a Romanesque church in the village. One floor of the museum Souvigny can discover, through his models, video and archaeological collections, the characteristics of the country Souvigny Carrefour influences "in the heart of France.

History Souvigny is closely linked to that of Cluny: first gift to the abbey, becomes Souvigny eldest daughter of Cluny.

The Dukes of Bourbon, whose ancestors did Souvigny donation to Cluny, have built their tombs in the church priory; Souvigny, "Cradle of the Bourbons" becomes "Necropolis of the Dukes of Bourbon." Guided tours of the church, funeral chapels, the Baroque sacristy and cloister are offered to visitors year-round daily (except Tuesday and during religious celebrations).

Souvigny identifies several events, including the living plant in late April-early May, the flea market in May, the medieval fair, which begins the last Saturday of July, the annual exhibition at the museum, Autumn Days music around the historic organ FH Clicquot the last weekend of September or the regional exhibition of antique books in November. Throughout the year, the association of artists and craftspeople, offers an exhibition "Banks poems" with fifty benches arranged in streets and gardens.
