The village of Sorgeat is located on the "Chemin des Bonshommes", GR 107, which runs from Foix, in France, to Berga, in Spain, and which takes up the route of the Cathars who fled the Inquisition in the 13th and 14th centuries.
Ax-les-Thermes, 10 minutes by car, is the best known town near Sorgeat. There is a ski resort (Ax 3 Domaines), the thermal center of Teich, specialized in rheumatology and ENT, the Bains du Couloubret, a casino, a cinema, and a multitude of small restaurants.
Paradise for nature lovers and hikers, the environment of Sorgeat is calm and preserved. Less than 15 minutes away, you will find the Nordic domain of Chioula, the Col de Pailhères, the Orlu valley and many hiking trails such as the GR 7.10 and 107 (Chemin des Bonshommes).
