The Saint-Denis church, of flamboyant Gothic style, and classified as a Historic Monument, can be seen from afar, and its superb square tower culminates at 42 m.
In the Middle Ages, it was part of a double church (St-Denis / St-Julien) served by Cluniac monks. After the demolition of St-Julien, the St-Denis church was rebuilt from 1520, and withstood the wars, the passing of the years, and even the great fire of 1632 which ravaged two thirds of the town.
From July 2003 to February 2006, it underwent major restoration and consolidation work.
Come and discover its slender nave, its chapels, and its Renaissance stained glass windows (dismantled during the war for their protection, and then reassembled, for some, in disorder…), as well as the fresco of the choir, which represents the Transfiguration and which overlooks the 18th century high altar.
