Seytroux is a town in Haute-Savoie, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, 24 km south-east of Thonon-les-Bains.
Its territory of 18 km² oscillates from 691 to 1802 m of altitude, culminating at the level of the Pointe de la Gay, in the south-west.
The village has developed along the axis connecting Lake Geneva to the resorts of Morzine and Les Gets (the current RD 902), within the Aulps valley, an entity of the natural region of Chablais.
Composed of a small town and several hamlets along the slopes, the locality is covered with forests (70% of the land), as well as herbaceous areas and meadows suitable for mountain agriculture (livestock, cheese production).
Former possession of the Cistercian abbey of Aulps (13th century), the town, which has around 500 inhabitants, has now also opened up to tourism, taking advantage of its proximity to renowned resorts.
However, the village of Seytroux and its surrounding countryside have preserved an authenticity that will be appreciated by lovers of green tourism... and mountain.
In terms of heritage, the village with a traditional Savoyard aspect (houses and farms) is proud of its church dedicated to Saint-Bernard de Menthon, originally from the region. It was built in 1806, just four years after the creation of the parish, Seytroux until then depending on Biot. The town itself will not be independent until 1836. Note that the church has a bulbous bell tower surmounted by a spire. Note also that the transept was not added until 1886. Inside, the paintings were renovated in 2017.

Occupying the western slope of the valley where the Dranse de Morzine flows, offering a bucolic and unspoiled landscape, the town has recently set up a leisure center near the center of the town, on the edge of a stream. The site is also the starting point for many hiking trails. One of them connects the different ridges that dominate the village. Other loops also allow you to enjoy the exceptional natural setting while reaching the neighboring villages. Some routes are suitable for two-wheelers. Finally, note that some sectors of the Roc d'enfer winter sports resort, based in Saint-Jean d'Aulps and La Chèvrerie, a few kilometers away in the south, flirt with the southern limits of the municipal territory.
