Commune of Haute-Savoie, in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region Scionzier takes place about sixty kilometers from Annecy, halfway between Geneva and Chamonix. Installed on the crossing point to reach many ski resorts in the region, it is located near Cluses, or Marnaz Magland.
Strongly linked to the Charterhouse of Reposoir, the common Scionzier developed through this religious community for centuries. Very old, it has particularly suffered post French Revolution wars, making successively invaded by the Austrians and Napoleon's troops. Part of France in the second half of the nineteenth century, the city is developing at the time an important watchmaking activity that made the heyday of the region.
Today Scionzier continues to attract visitors with its natural beauty, but also by its ideal location to explore the area or learn to ski in some of the finest French stations.
