Charming town of Ariege in Occitan region Saverdun takes place about thirty kilometers from Foix, between Toulouse and Pamiers. Bordering the department of Haute-Garonne, it is located near Lissac Justiniac or Saint-Amans.
Inhabited since the Gallo-Roman territory Saverdun began to develop after the tenth century, thanks to the presence of his lord's castle. Strongly affected by the Albigensian Crusade, between the eleventh and thirteenth centuries, it also suffers a few centuries later the wars of religion who see the destruction of its walls.
Today more calm, the city is mainly directed towards agriculture, but also attracts many visitors keen to enjoy its calm and its proximity to some of the most beautiful sights in the region.
