Built in the middle of the 19th century, the Château de Saulxures takes place on the territory of Saulxures-sur-Moselotte, in the Vosges. Work of the architect Charles Perron, this building registered with the Historical Monuments was originally commissioned by Elisabeth Géhin, widow of the first textile industrialist of the commune, in homage to her late husband.
Originally decorated with sumptuous staircases, painted ceilings, monumental tapestries and caryatids, the Château de Saulxures is today in a serious state of degradation and threatened with demolition.
