The House of Lafarge (also called Major Lafarge) is located on the main square of Salers, in the Cantal.
It dates from the second half of the sixteenth century, the little city famous for giving its name to a breed of cattle has become since 1550 the seat of a royal court. An implementation which attracted many wealthy families and allow Salers count a noblesse de robe.
Renaissance style, the building has on the ground floor of a shop bay basket-handle. A front return perpendicular to the first is composed of two parts separated by a turret which opened on a shop with workshop. Is observed at the door capitals pilasters input Doric supporting ledge with a projecting ledge.
The main material is composed of lava rock.
Protected under the historical monuments, the property is private and neighboring other major buildings.
